If you’re a Maybank customer looking to send money to another Malaysian bank, we’ve got you covered. In this guide, we’ll show you how to do it using Maybank2u, Maybank’s online banking platform.
Maybank2u is safe, convenient, and allows you to transfer money to accounts at MEPS member banks and select participating banks in Malaysia. You can choose between two transfer methods: DuitNow Transfer for instant transfers or Interbank GIRO (IBG) for cost-effective transfers.
Step 1: Log in to Maybank2u
Start by visiting the Maybank2u website and log in using your username and password. If you don’t have an account yet, follow the registration instructions on the website.
Step 2: Access the “Pay & Transfer” Section
Once logged in, click on the ‘Pay & Transfer’ tab located in the top menu. This will take you to the page where you can choose your payment and transfer options.
Step 3: Select “Transfer To Other Accounts”
On the ‘Pay & Transfer’ page, navigate to the left sidebar and click on the ‘Transfer’ tab. From the drop-down menu, choose ‘Transfer To Other Accounts.’ This option allows you to make transfers to external bank accounts within Malaysia.
Step 4: Provide Transfer Details
Now, on the ‘Transfer To Other Accounts’ page, select the account you want to use for the transfer from your list of Maybank accounts. Click on ‘New Transfer’ and choose the recipient’s bank from the available options. Enter the recipient’s account number and name. You can also add a reference or message if needed.
Next, pick your preferred transfer method: DuitNow Transfer for instant transactions or IBG for cost-effective transfers. Review the differences in speed, fees, and limits displayed on the same page. Then, input the transfer amount and click ‘Transfer.’
Step 5: Verify and Confirm Your Transaction
Before finalizing the transaction, you’ll need to confirm it through either Secure Verification or SMS TAC. Secure Verification enables you to confirm the transfer using your smartphone without entering a TAC number. Alternatively, SMS TAC sends you a verification code via SMS that you’ll need to enter on the website.
Once you’ve completed the verification step, click ‘Confirm,’ and you’re done! A confirmation page will display your transaction details along with a reference number. You can also check your transaction history and status on Maybank2u.
That’s all it takes to transfer money from Maybank to other banks in Malaysia using Maybank2u. It’s a quick and straightforward process that you can do at your convenience. Happy transferring!
