upanThe ELITE expressway is a part of the larger North-South Expressway (PLUS) network, which is a system of controlled-access highways that runs the length of Peninsular Malaysia. The expressway is operated by Projek Lebuhraya Usahasama Berhad (PLUS), a highway concessions and construction company.
The ELITE expressway was completed and opened to traffic in 2002, and it has since become a major transportation corridor in the country, connecting major cities and towns in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Negeri Sembilan. It also provides access to the KLIA Airport, which is located near the Nilai interchange.
The expressway has interchanges at major intersections and is equipped with rest and service areas, as well as emergency telephones and other safety features. It is a toll road, with tolls collected at designated points along the expressway.
