DuitNow QR is a convenient and secure way to make payments using your smartphone. You can scan the DuitNow QR code at participating merchants and transfer money instantly from your bank account or e-wallet. DuitNow QR is also interoperable with other countries, such as Indonesia, which means you can use it to pay at merchants that display the QRIS code.
If you are a Bank Rakyat customer, you can activate the DuitNow QR function on your iRakyat app and enjoy the benefits of cashless payments. Here are the steps to do so:
Step 1: Download and install the iRakyat app
You can download the iRakyat app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. The app is free and compatible with most Android and iOS devices. Once you have downloaded the app, install it on your smartphone and launch it.
Step 2: Log in to your iRakyat account
To use the iRakyat app, you need to have an online banking account with Bank Rakyat. If you don’t have one, you can register online at Bank Rakyat’s official website or visit any Bank Rakyat branch. Once you have an online banking account, you can log in to the iRakyat app using your username and password.
Step 3: Tap on the DuitNow QR icon
On the main screen of the iRakyat app, you will see a DuitNow QR icon at the bottom right corner. Tap on it to access the DuitNow QR function. You will see two options: Scan & Pay and Receive Payment.
Step 4: Choose your default account or e-wallet
To make payments using DuitNow QR, you need to choose a default account or e-wallet that will be debited when you scan a DuitNow QR code. You can choose from your Bank Rakyat current or savings account, or any e-wallet that is linked to your iRakyat account, such as Boost, GrabPay, Setel, or Touch ‘n Go.
To choose your default account or e-wallet, tap on the Scan & Pay option and then tap on the Change button at the top right corner. You will see a list of available accounts and e-wallets that you can select. Tap on your preferred option and confirm your choice.
Step 5: Scan a DuitNow QR code and pay
You are now ready to make payments using DuitNow QR. To do so, tap on the Scan & Pay option again and point your smartphone camera at a DuitNow QR code displayed by a merchant. You will see the merchant’s name and the amount to be paid on your screen. Confirm the payment by entering your PIN or using biometric authentication. You will receive a notification of successful payment on your screen and via SMS.
That’s it! You have successfully activated and used the DuitNow QR function on your Bank Rakyat iRakyat app. You can now enjoy the convenience and security of cashless payments at thousands of merchants in Malaysia and Indonesia.
