In this guide, we will explain how to renew your Malaysian passport online in just five easy steps, utilizing the official MyOnline Passport portal. Additionally, we will offer some helpful tips to ensure your passport renewal goes smoothly and hassle-free.

Step 1: Gather Your Documents and Photo

Before you commence your online passport renewal application, ensure that you have the following documents and a suitable photo at hand:

  • Your current Malaysian passport
  • Your MyKad or identity card
  • A recent passport-sized photo that adheres to these requirements:
  • The photo should be in color and taken against a plain white background.
  • Your full face should be visible without any headgear or accessories, unless they are worn for religious reasons.
  • The photo must be clear and sharp, free from shadows or glare.
  • It should be in JPEG format and not exceed 200 KB in size.
  • The photo must have been taken within the last six months.

You can use the online photo checker tool on the MyOnline Passport portal to verify if your photo meets the requirements.
